While it’s easy to take for granted the predictable flow of tides, ebbing back out seemingly no sooner than they rushed in, each wave – much like ourselves – experiences a unique, ephemeral journey. Swept along in the rhythm of what has already been determined by nature, but moving like no other that came before or after.

Tides and Times is a collaboration between photographer Mal Seddon and writers Annie Thompson and Rodney Challis. They have used as a theme the idea of tides and time as an allegory to produce a series of works relating to the transitory nature of the travels each and every one of us make through life.
